update

1.  Our dear family friend, Bailey, threw a shower for Laura and I together.  However, the day before the shower was the day Laura decided to go into labor...... so Erin had to fill in for her.  It was a wonderful, elegant shower.  THANKS, Bailey!
2.  School is nearly done.  We have 2 days left with kids and then a work day this week.  I can't believe it-- it has certainly been a great year.  Summer vacation~ here I come! I also won't be returning to work (if all goes well) until mid-November.  I am looking forward to being at home with the little one for some extra time.
3.   Jesse had a birthday on May 21st.  We celebrated with a trip to Duluth, met up with Erin and Bill for a meal at Baja Billy's, a walk around Canal Park, and then I humored Jesse by going to the Terminator (YUCK) movie with him.  The next day we hit the mall, Red Lobster and Gander before heading back home.  It was a relaxing day/night away.
4.  My not-so-little cousin Jordan graduated from High School on Thursday.  I only cried a little.  It's hard to believe that he's 18-  not sure where those years went..... I remember his first day of kindergarten when he got sent to the office for throwing corn in the lunch room..... he's quite the kid.   Congrats, Jord- we are proud of you!  xoxo
5.  Yesterday was crazy-  I woke up in the middle of the night sick- but, I thought it was from my vitamins, so I decided to go to school (since there are so few days left).  I made it up there just long enough to call a sub and head back home.  I got back home, into bed by 9 and started having some small irregular contractions.  Jesse kept calling and finally I told him to come home at 2.  So- once he was home I slept some more, and thought I felt better so we headed out to dad's.  Lo, Mike, Kate, Erin, Bill, Jesse and I were all hanging out when at 10:30, I got super sick again.  Fearing dehydration and more contractions, we headed into the hospital.  Luckily, I got there, was hooked up to some monitors for an hour, and then released to go home.  We got back to dad's at about 1:30-- so Jesse had 4 hours of sleep before the guys all headed out on their big camping adventure.  I feel much better today- and the boys have a sat phone with them, so I can call at any time...... hopefully I won't have to.  He did make a quick call in tonight to make sure I'm ok.  So far so good.
6.  Stacy and Dylan came out to visit Kate today.  Dylan's had a blast holding her.   Mom and Gram also came out this morning to visit.  Like the rest of us, we just can't get enough of that sweet baby.  She is quite the princess already.

Time for bed.

SURPRISE!

Erin and Amy pulled off a sneaky trick.  Erin is having a small shower for me tomorrow with some dear friends, and last night as I was sitting on my couch I heard a car door shut.  I THOUGHT it was Jesse returning from his parents, but then I heard another door.....  I looked outside and saw a little boy in a bright red sweatshirt walking around.  Turns out, this little boy is being followed by his mommy and baby brother.  Amy, Jack and Henry came all the way from Iowa to spend the weekend with me ( and Bapa and Knuckles of course-- and maybe a few more friends).  What a treat!!  So- we spent the evening chatting and eating skittles, and since I had a dr appt today, I had the day off-- so we get to spend even more time hanging out.   I've already rocked that sweet baby to sleep twice, and have enjoyed playing "hide the peanut" with Jack.   It's been a great weekend so far!
OH- and tonight my college roommate is coming..... I will hopefully have some pictures to follow!
