Cocktail

My sister Laura has never seen the movie Cocktail.  I say it's a classic.  She had the soundtrack-- because she is a child of the 80's and LoVeS the music.....  So here we sit, out at dad's, watching Cocktail.  So far, her opinion is "ummmm- it's ok".    I'm loving it.   :)
Last night Jesse and I went up to his parents for dinner and we watched Hell's Kitchen.  I had never seen that before~ but YIKES!  That guy is so mean.  I couldn' t take someone screaming at me constantly (nor could I reply "yes chef" after ever remark he made).   Anyways, we had a nice visit with his parents and some yummy burgers on the grill.
Today I spent the morning with my friend Taryn, her 2 boys, her parents and grandpa.  Again- another great visit.  Her boys are getting so big!  We always have great chats and they even taught me about this game twist and turn (or something like that) game on the computer that I will now be addicted to!   I also got to hold that sweet baby Chase and play with Braeden.  Now it's my (our) turn to get down to Duluth to visit with the Erickson family.
We are currently out at dad's (I'm beginning to see a weekend trend here....).   Lo came out for the night, so we are getting in more visiting.   Auntie Erin and Uncle Bill greeted us with a KISS ME I'M IRISH baby outfit... that will be worn in JUNE.  It's perfect. Tomorrow we'll head to church and then probably do nothing the rest of the day-- looking forward to that.
Oh my- I just realized it's March 1 tomorrow.... which means we are more than half way through the third quarter of school.  It also means SPRING is almost here.  Can't wait.

I love lists.

I am not a writer.  It is much easier for me to keep life in lists.  So- here you go.

1.  Good week at school-  Got some good baby names from my students- my favorites were Sally and Joe Montana.  They were serious.
2.  I spent the day shopping with my mom and sister-  it  was fun being together.  THANKS!
3.  The Apple Chai Tea Infusion at Starbucks is delicious-  VERY sweet, but yummy.
4.  Went on a date last night.  Mexican food, shopping, ice cream and a movie at home. Even got spoiled with breakfast this morning.
5.  Baby Henry is home and Jack is feeling better.  Hooray!
6.  I learned if you are MN teacher and have an AT&T cell phone, you get a 15% discount!
7.  Since I'm at dad's, I think I will go "render a selection" on the ol' piano.
8.  March is just around the corner.....

Weekly update.

1.  In the process of finishing meds and recovering from strep and a touch of the flu.
2.  Spirit Week at school- fun, exhausting, kids loved it.
3.  Saw He's Just Not That Into You with Christie and Erin.... had a nice dinner, talked about wayyyy too many girlie things, went to Target and spent unnecessary money.  :)  Can't wait to do it again.  OH- and I found out I need to work on parking my sweet ride..... Christie's going to give me lessons.
4.  Wonderful visit with mom, G&G Pod, and Uncle Rob-  lots of sarcasm and belly laughs- not to mention some tasty tuna salad (thanks gram!).
5.  Got a surprise baby gift in the mail... thanks Kerrisa.  It's ADORABLE.
6.  Visit with one of my fav cousins, Jordan.  He's a quiet riot.
7.  Jesse and Bill went on a 10 mile hike in the BWCA today.  I spent the day (go figure!) at Erin's... the service is good here.   Erin's currently making shrimp curry.  Deliciouso!
8.  School meeting tomorrow night.  Valentine's party Friday.
9.  G&G Aune celebrated their 66th anniversary!!!  I didn't go to see them Friday because I didn't want to get them sick.... I will get there this week.  Can you even imagine 66 years together??  What a pair....
10. IOWA or BUST Friday pm.  Looking forward to updating Amy's blog for her.

Happy Valentine's (or as my students say; ValentiMe's Day!)
xoxo

rats.

After being so careful, disinfecting my classroom, continuously washing my hands and trying to keep a safe distance from my kids.... I caught the dreaded strep throat. rats.
